Carillion Specialist Services Ltd’s (CSS) Approved Inspector service provides independent third party certification of building or refurbishment work under the Building Regulations.
CSS guide clients through the complex minefield of Building Regulations and manage fire authority consultations, leading to certification of compliance following satisfactory completion of the work.
Scope of work:
- Advice on designs at tender stage
- Value engineering reviews of projects under the Building Regulations
- Advice at project team design reviews
- Design assessment and detailed compliance report within 10 working days of drawing receipt
- Advice on local bylaws and other related legislation.
- Consultations with Fire Authority at design stage
- Site inspections of statutory stages of work
- Additional progress inspections to achieve compliance with regulations therefore minimising the risk of remedial works at completion
- Detailed site inspection reports for all inspections
- Attendance at site meetings/design meetings if required
- Consultation/hand-over to Fire Authority on completion of works
- Statutory certification of compliance with Building Regulations
- Maintenance of project records in secure archive storage for reference purposes
- Facilitation of Risk and Value workshops to deliver clarity to compliance issues
